A Welcome Message
On behalf of Northern Technical College, it is my great pleasure to warmly welcome all our students, parents, guardians, industry partners, stakeholders, staff and the entire College community as we begin another academic year.
Over the years, we have gained valuable lessons and experiences that have helped Northern Technical College grow and develop as an institution. We greatly value the important role that industry, Government and our various stakeholders continue to play in shaping education and preparing our students for the world of work.
Our partnership with industry remains an important part of what we do. Through industrial attachments, internships, industrial tours and other engagements, our students have the opportunity to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in real-life situations. These experiences not only enrich their education but also give them the practical skills, confidence and exposure they need to succeed in the workplace.
We therefore wish to sincerely thank our industry partners for their continued support and commitment to complementing Government’s efforts in providing quality education and skills training. Your partnership is making a real difference in the lives of our students and we look forward to strengthening these relationships for the benefit of our learners, industry and the nation at large.
We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Republican President, His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, for his commitment to education and skills development, particularly through the provision of opportunities for young people to access skills training.
The introduction and continued support of TEVETA bursaries, Constituency Development Fund (CDF) skills bursaries, Keeping Girls in School (KGS), among others, have opened doors for many young Zambians who might otherwise have struggled to afford technical and vocational education. These opportunities are helping more of our young people acquire practical skills, realize their potential and prepare themselves for meaningful participation in the development of our country.
At Northern Technical College, we believe that no young person should be left behind because of financial challenges when they have the potential and determination to learn and succeed. We therefore encourage eligible learners to make use of the available bursary opportunities and take their education and skills development seriously.
Education and skills development are key to Zambia’s development. When we invest in our young people we are investing in the future of our families, our communities and our nation. Our responsibility as a college is not only to impart knowledge but also to equip our students with the practical skills, values, discipline and confidence they need to become productive citizens and contribute positively to society.
As Northern Technical College continues to grow, we remain committed to providing quality technical education and skills training, strengthening our partnerships with industry, promoting innovation and creating an environment where every student has an opportunity to learn, grow and succeed.
To our students, I encourage you to make the most of your time at the college. Take your studies seriously, develop your practical skills, respect one another and make good use of every opportunity that comes your way. Your future is in your hands, and the college is here to support you along the way.
Once again, on behalf of Northern Technical College, I warmly welcome you all. Let us work together as a college community with our partners and stakeholders to make this academic year a successful and rewarding one.
Welcome to Northern Technical College (NORTEC) where we are committed to building skills, creating opportunities and shaping the future of Zambia.
