The Heavy Equipment Repair (HER) Section focuses on the inspection, servicing, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty mobile equipment used in mining, construction, agriculture, earthmoving, and related industries. Training covers diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, powertrain and transmission systems, undercarriage systems for tracked machines, braking and steering systems, electrical and electronic controls, and preventive and condition-based maintenance. Practical learning is designed to develop technicians who can troubleshoot faults, maintain equipment reliability, work safely, and minimise equipment downtime.
